In 1956, seven women found themselves the center of attention for successfully breastfeeding their babies. Friends sought them out for breastfeeding information and support, so they decided to formalize the mother-to-mother support they were giving into an organization they named La Leche League. It didn't take long for La Leche League to grow into an international organization, with volunteer Leaders providing mother-to-mother support in over 60 countries around the world, and to be recognized as the world's foremost authority on breastfeeding.
Today, La Leche League provides mother-to-mother support through local meetings, publications, and by answering mothers' questions over the telephone and Internet. Do you have a question? Are you looking for more information on breastfeeding? Or just a friendly chat with like-minded women? You can find all that here!
